Presentation - Investigation group on history and dialectology of Spanish language

The contribution of the team “Investigation group on history and dialectology of Spanish language” Grupo de Investigación en Historia y Dialectología del Español” (GRHIDE, Madrid Autonomous University) will be the best understanding of medieval Castilian in Europe (Javier Elvira), notably in its territorial diversity (Inés Fernández-Ordóñez). Besides, the team is composed of philologists who are nowadays in charge of the study of the royal historiography of the 13th and 14th centuries in the vernacular language (Inés Fernández-Ordóñez). This contribution will be most significant for the good understanding of medieval Castilian in the light of the diachronical and diatopical constitutions, as well as for the knowledge of the history and the genesis of historiographical works.
